We at The Independent encourage feedback from the Clark College community. Students wishing to contact a member of staff to discuss a story may find contact information here. Students wishing to give us a story lead or inform us about an event may contact any member of staff or call us at 992-2157.
Students wishing to publicly critique the paper may submit Letters to the Editor. Letters should be between 50 and 150 words. We reserve the right to copy edit stories and cut letters over 150 words in order to place them on the page. Letters to the Editor should be submitted to our Editor-in-Chief Rylan Sorenson at editorinchief@clarknews.org
Students wishing to write for The Independent are encouraged to visit us after 12 p.m. at PUB 255. Students can join the paper by registering for JOUR 121 - College Newspaper. JOUR 121 is a variable credit class that can be taken for 1 to 5 credits. JOUR 121 required previous or concurrent enrollment in JOUR 101. Non-staffed students can also submit stories as a 'Guest Reporter'. Students will work with the appropriate Section Editor to make ensure the same standards are applied.
The opinion expressed in The Independent are not necessarily those of the students, faculty, administration or ASCC, but solely those of the author. Unsigned editorials reflect 3/4 opinions of the Editorial Board.
We encourage all feedback from the students, both negative and positive. We are your paper, and work daily to bring the latest news and features to the student body. In short, we want to know what you want to know.
